This beautiful bimetallic 500 Columbian Pesos coin features the holy tree of Guacarí in San Marcos, Sucre, Colombia. The Guacarí tree is the world’s biggest tree, spanning 135 feet in diameter. The holy tree received its name for celebrating the Guacari inhabitants who preserve the Samán tree.
The Banco de la República issued Colombian Peso coins in 11 different denominations, including this 500 Pesos coin Colombia (Holy Tree of Guacari). They are part of the withdrawn Colombian Peso coins series.
